Our trip Classic Namibia by rental car takes you to well-known and unknown destinations that represent the country’s scenic, cultural and geological diversity while keeping the driving stages as short as possible.
The route starts and ends in Namibia’s capital Windhoek. In between are the impressive plateau of the Waterberg, a short visit to the Hoba meteorite, which is considered the world’s largest, the crossing of the Etosha National Park with several stops from the eastern edge to its western border and Damaraland with the famous rock engravings of the San at Twyfelfontein, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next up is the Brandberg mountain range, home to Namibia’s highest peak and the rock carvings that have become famous as the “White Lady”, as well as a game drive to see the desert elephants in the valley of the Ugab. This is followed by a drive through the Namib Desert to Cape Cross and a visit to Swakopmund. The finale is Sossusvlei with its huge sand dunes.
