At a Glance
This Honduras Trip by rental car combines the highlights of the country with destinations off the beaten track. The famous Mayan site of Copán (part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1980) and the famous Pico Bonito National Park are part of it, but also the little known cloud forest of La Tigra National Park near the capital Tegucigalpa. Finally, Roatán’s white beaches and the offshore reef awaits you. Snorkelers and divers will find one of the best spots in the region, as well as sports fishermen and lovers of other water sports.
If the accommodation at La Tigra National Park is too rustic for you, you can also stay overnight in the capital and make a day trip. A possible additional stop on the itinerary is the colonial city of Comayagua.
